Fine craftsmanship and quality leathers — what it takes for Gucci to stand as one of the world’s leading luxury fashion brands since 1920s.
In celebrating its new store opening in Lee Gardens, Gucci has set up ‘Artisan Corner’. Presenting Hong Kong a live demonstrations with their most skilful Italian artisans, on the making process of the iconic New Bamboo bag and Bamboo Shopper. The original Bamboo bag was created in 1947 and was reintroduced in 2013 with the New Bamboo. The slight change of shape and style has been crafted the same way as the original, and with the blending of high-tech innovation (especially on the treating of the bamboo handle), the New Bamboo and Bamboo Shopper offers a new feminine appeal and dynamic style that reflects Frida Giannini’s vision of contemporary luxury. Inside Artisan Corner, personalized embossing service is also available for selected leather products. Each handbag takes in average 10 hours of work to create, and I’m totally impressed by the artisans’ passion and their chase of perfection in every small details that makes a Gucci handbag perfect.
