I believe many of you are familiar of the well-known Johnnie Walker Blue Label, of its smoky and earthy flavors, remarkable. But when it comes to drinking it with chocolate, and especially chocolate curated by The hotel’s Executive Pastry Chef, Frank Hassnoot, it will be another story to tell.
Last week I was in The Felix Bar of Hong Kong’s leading luxury hotel The Peninsula, for an extraordinary whisky tasting journey. Serving Blue Label with 4 different flavors of freshly handmade, artisanal chocolates — Passionfruit, Honey, Fleur de Sel ( France sea salt), and The Peninsula’s very own unique chocolate — they were perfectly paired to unlock the levels of sensations that Johnnie Walker serves.
My personal favorite will be the Passionfruit, filled with passionfruit ganache and jam, the fruity and slightly sour flavor gently smoothen and blends in with the signature whisky.
It was definitely a pleasant luxury taste of journey, and needless to say that the set up was exquisite?
