Hong Kong Fashion Week will definitely be one of the first major fashion events to kick start the year. Though without knowing the reason for a massive scale-down of the event, the number of shows are countable by your five fingers. Unbelievably true for here people describe as one of the major fashion capitals on the planet. Think on the bright side, our support to young designers comes more precious and meaningful.
This season I decided to go through a makeover to nearly everything that relates to the word “style”, starting off with my hair colour. I was opting for ombre grey, and this is the first stage of getting to it. After several hours of bleaching, I’m temporary a blondie. This colour which I have never experimented on has kept me inspired, and somehow I decided to go for gold on the first day of fashion week. The bold yet elegant embroidered dress are designed by one of my favourite Hong Kong designer label Blind by JW. It is not the first time I’ve given them a shout out on the blog, and if you have been reading it, you might be familiar with their East meet West aesthetics. The dress makes more sense when wearing it with a pair of pointy heels, suede leather if you may ask. Yet you know I’m always about experimenting with styles, and giving a masculine contrast to something elegant will be far more intriguing than pulling out a ‘predictable’ feminine outfit. Let’s put it in this way: this is who I am.
Never be afraid of giving new try on yourself, whether it’s fashion or life. At the end, it is the courage of taking one step forward that makes life more interesting.
